Agronuts

Our nursery

A successful orchard starts with high-quality plants.

To ensure the quality of the plants we supply, we manage the entire process from A to Z.
Our nursery is located in the Piedmont region of Italy, specifically in Cherasco. There, we grow all major Italian and American hazelnut varieties. The daily operations are overseen by Giancarlo Mozzone, who has 40 years of experience in hazelnut cultivation and knows the process inside out.

Hazelnut plants are not grown from seeds, but from layering cuttings taken from mother plants. Each mother plant is mounded, and the suckers are separated and rooted. These young plants then spend an additional year in the nursery to strengthen their root system and trunk.

Our nursery is unique.

Our greenhouse-based plant production system allows for faster plant growth. As a result, the plants develop a more robust root system and greater resilience. This leads to better establishment and faster entry into production.

We hold a license for the bare-root production of high-potential American varieties such as TONDA PACIFICA, YAMHILL, MC DONALD, and others.
